Accessibility
Bruno David Gallery wants everyone to be able to see the work we show. This page describes how to reach and move through the gallery at 7513 Forsyth Boulevard in Downtown Clayton, Saint Louis, how to ask us for an accommodation, and what we are doing to make this website usable for everyone. If something here does not answer your question, email info@brunodavidgallery.com or call 1.314.696.2377 and we will help you plan your visit.
Visiting the gallery
Accessible parking and elevator access
Visitors who need accessible parking should use the indoor garage at the Lee Avenue entrance and park in the spaces marked "Visitors Only." The elevator from the garage serves the first floor, where the gallery is located. During opening receptions and gallery talks, the indoor parking is free. Free outdoor parking is also available during open hours in the lot behind the gallery, entered from Lee Avenue, in the spaces marked "Retail Customer Parking Only."
Arriving without a car
The gallery is about a four-minute walk from the MetroLink Forsyth station, heading west on Forsyth Boulevard. The WashU West Campus shuttle stops at the corner of Jackson and Forsyth. Metered street parking is available on weekdays, and street parking in Clayton is free on Saturday and Sunday. Full transit and parking detail is on our directions page.
Service animals
Service animals are welcome throughout Bruno David Gallery.
Asking us for an accommodation
If you have a specific access need, tell us before you come and we will do what we can to meet it. That might mean opening at a quieter time, arranging a private viewing outside public hours, meeting you at the Lee Avenue entrance, or describing works to you as you go. Email info@brunodavidgallery.com or call 1.314.696.2377. A few days' notice helps, but ask anyway if your plans are last minute, and we will try.
Window on Forsyth
Window on Forsyth, our street-facing exhibition space at 7513A Forsyth Boulevard, is visible from the public sidewalk at any hour and requires no entry to the building.
This website
The standard we work toward
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, using the WebAIM WCAG 2 checklist as our working reference. We review the site against that standard as we make changes, and we treat accessibility problems as defects to be fixed rather than requests to be considered.
Adjusting the site to suit you
This website is built to work with the accessibility controls already in your browser and operating system, including text resizing, zoom, contrast adjustment, and screen reader software. Keeping your browser and any assistive software up to date will give you the widest range of options.
Where we know we fall short
We publish this list because a statement of intent is worth less than an honest account of the gaps. Some of our older exhibition images do not yet carry descriptive alternative text. Our art catalogues are distributed as PDFs and e-books through third-party services, and older files in that archive were not produced to current accessibility standards. Embedded video from third-party platforms does not always carry accurate captions. If you need any of this material in a form you can use, email us and we will get it to you another way.
Third-party content
Parts of this site include content and functionality supplied by other companies, including our website platform, embedded video players, publication viewers, and the online shop. We do not control how those services are built, but we do choose which ones we use, and accessibility is part of how we choose. Tell us if one of them blocks you and we will look for an alternative or find another way to give you the same information.
Telling us about a barrier
If you have difficulty using this website, or you run into a barrier at the gallery, we want to hear about it. Email info@brunodavidgallery.com or call 1.314.696.2377. It helps if you can describe what you were trying to do, what got in the way, and the browser or assistive technology you were using, but partial information is far better than none. We read every message, we aim to reply within five business days, and we will tell you what we intend to do about it.
